My Blue Dot History
Blue Dot Radio was founded in 2018 to meet the needs of listeners who wanted to listen to timeless classics, listeners wanted to hear the music they recognised, from the days when they had good times in night clubs or at house parties.
Blue Dot radio plays music that is familiar to listeners and allows them to reminisce and reacquaint themselves with the music from bygone years. However, unfortunately in many cases the body won’t allow us to do the same dance moves as in the past, hopefully the quality timeless classics we play will stimulate you and take you down memory lane
Artists such as Usher, Mary J Blige, Maxwell, Kleer, Colour Me Bad on the soul front and from the reggae industry, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Janet Kay, Sandra Cross to name but a few are seldom given the airtime they deserve. If you recognize all or some of these artists, listen to Blue Dot Radio and you are guaranteed to hear all of the fore mentioned and many, many more great soul and reggae artists.
Blue Dot Radio broadcasts right across Birmingham and the surrounding areas on DAB radio and online and has a potential reach of upto 1 million listener’s.
The name Blue Dot was chosen because one of my earliest memories in infant & junior school, many of the parents would own a Blaupunkt radiogram in the living room and would invariably use it to blast their favourite tunes from especially on a Sunday morning or use it for house parties.
Every Blaupunkt unit would be carefully tested by technicians and labelled with a seal for quality – the “Blue Dot”.
“Blue Dot Radio, The SOUL of QUALITY Music”.
